The Panthers' protection problems are why I favor Under 48.5 against the Packers. Taylor Moton is on injured reserve, with rookie Monroe Freeling expected back at right tackle after Bryce Young took 5 sacks Sunday.
Green Bay has allowed 4.8 yards per play through 7 games. Against Dallas two games ago, its blitzes helped hold the Cowboys to 5 conversions on 13 third downs.
Green Bay's offense is averaging 2.9 yards per carry through 7 games, with 32 conversions on 91 third downs.
In Sunday's loss to Detroit, 4 red-zone trips produced 7 points. Matt LaFleur tied those failures to a run game that let Detroit concentrate on stopping the pass.
