GA Southern's pass rush is the main reason for Under 56.5 against App State. The Eagles have 19 sacks through 7 games, and the Mountaineers have lost left tackle Devon Manuel for the season.
Southern has also allowed just 3.5 yards per rush and 3 rushing touchdowns through those 7 games. App State averages 4.0 yards per carry, leaving no obvious rushing mismatch to ease that protection problem.
Southern faces an App State defense that has allowed 3.6 yards per rush and 35 conversions on 102 third downs through 7 games.
When the Eagles do reach scoring range, they have scored touchdowns on only 15 of 26 red-zone trips this season.
