Under theScore Bet's Maryland rules, a pushed leg comes out of an ordinary parlay. FanDuel's New Jersey rules void an entire 2-team teaser after a push.
This guide uses theScore Bet's Maryland rules effective Aug. 17, 2026, and FanDuel's New Jersey rules updated Oct. 15, 2026. Penn Sports Interactive, LLC, its affiliates and Hollywood Casino Perryville operate theScore Bet's Maryland platform. The Maryland rules are subject to the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission's rules, and conflicting commission decisions take precedence. Betfair Interactive US LLC operates and controls FanDuel Sportsbook under an agreement with New Meadowlands Racetrack, LLC, with oversight from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and the New Jersey Racing Commission. Check the current rules for your sportsbook, state, sport and market before applying these examples to your ticket.
When does a bet push?
A push depends on the settlement rules of the specific market. A whole-number line alone does not establish that the wager can push.
theScore Bet's Maryland rules give a 2-way total of over 200 and under 200 as an example. If the final total is exactly 200, both selections push. Its spread rule also distinguishes a market without a tie selection from a 3-way handicap, where the listed tie selection can win.
FanDuel's New Jersey American football rule says whole-number spread and total bets are void and refunded when the result lands exactly on the quoted number. That is a football rule, not a universal definition for every whole-number market.
Push, void and no action on a straight bet
theScore Bet's Maryland rules use the separate labels push, no action and void but give them the same settlement treatment for straight bets and ordinary parlays. On a straight bet, the sportsbook returns the stake. A returned stake is not profit.
Keep that refund separate from a winning payout. FanDuel's New Jersey rules define positive American odds as the profit on a $100 stake and negative American odds as the stake required to win $100. The signed price itself is not a profit or payout multiplier.
What happens to an ordinary parlay?
Under theScore Bet's Maryland rules, a pushed, no-action or voided selection comes out of an ordinary parlay. The wager continues on the remaining selections at recalculated odds.
FanDuel's New Jersey ordinary-parlay rule removes a void selection and recalculates the odds using the remaining legs. If only one selection remains, the ticket becomes a straight bet at that selection's applicable odds.
For more on combining selections, read the PicksOffice guide to parlay pricing.
Same Game Parlays: pregame and live rules differ
theScore Bet's Maryland pregame Same Game Parlay rules cover these outcomes:
- If a leg pushes or is void and every remaining leg wins, the wager wins at recalculated odds and payout.
- If any remaining leg loses, the wager loses.
- If every leg pushes or is void, the ticket is graded no action and the stake is refunded.
Under theScore Bet's Maryland general live Same Game Parlay rule, any push or void leg makes the entire wager no action, with the stake refunded. That provision excludes football, basketball and baseball, which have sport-specific rules.
The Maryland live rules for MLB, NBA, WNBA, NCAA basketball, NFL and NCAA football remove a push or void leg when all remaining legs win. Any losing leg makes the wager a loss. If every leg pushes or is void, the sportsbook grades the ticket no action and refunds the stake.
Check whether your ticket was pregame or live, then locate the rule for that sport. Applying the general live rule to one of its excluded sports can change the answer from a recalculated wager to a refund.
Teasers and Odds Boosts have their own exceptions
Under FanDuel's New Jersey teaser rule, a push or void leg makes a 2-team teaser entirely void. A larger teaser remains active and is recalculated without the affected leg.
Under FanDuel's New Jersey rules, if any selection in an Odds Boost parlay is void, the entire Odds Boost is void, regardless of the other selections. Ordinary-parlay leg removal does not describe that product's rule.
Postponed and interrupted events
Under FanDuel's New Jersey general event rule, an event that does not reach a natural conclusion within 48 hours after its scheduled completion date has its undetermined markets voided. Markets whose outcomes were already unconditionally determined remain settled. Another applicable rule can override that general provision.
theScore Bet's Maryland general abandonment rule uses 48 hours from the event's start time. Unless a sport-specific rule overrides it, undetermined wagers become no action if an abandoned, canceled or postponed event does not resume and finish within that window. Already determined wagers remain settled.
Even when both rules say 48 hours, they do not start that clock at the same point. Read the timing clause before deciding when a refund is due.
Futures follow a separate timetable
FanDuel's New Jersey Futures Settlement section applies to markets on the outcome of a competition, season or tournament. For a shortened, suspended or materially altered competition, it follows an official governing-body ruling made within 90 days of the originally scheduled completion date. Without that ruling, affected futures are void unless their outcomes were already determined.
For a postponed competition covered by that futures section, bets remain valid when the competition is rescheduled. Customers may request a void before the rescheduled event starts. If the competition is not rescheduled within 90 days of the original competition date, all bets are void under that rule.
Those futures provisions do not turn the 90-day window into a general waiting period for every interrupted game.
How to check your ticket
Find the house rules for the sportsbook and state where you placed the bet. Then identify the exact product and any applicable sport-specific rule:
- For a spread or total, check whether the market allows a push or offers a separate tie selection.
- For an ordinary parlay, check whether the affected leg is removed and the remaining odds recalculated.
- For a Same Game Parlay, distinguish pregame from live and check the sport-specific exceptions.
- For a teaser or Odds Boost, read that product's settlement rule.
- For an interruption, identify the clock's starting point and whether the outcome was already determined.
Save the accepted bet details and the rule version you used. Pennsylvania requires readily available sportsbook house rules. Those rules must address winning-wager calculations, incorrectly posted events, odds, wagers or results, schedule changes and notification of odds or proposition changes.
For the examples above, consult the theScore Bet Maryland house rules and the cited FanDuel New Jersey rules.
